Control Freak SLAMMO V5 Smart Multi-Protocol Dimmer in IP54 Aluminium Enclosure

The SLAMMO V5 IP54 is an Australian-made, multi-protocol smart LED dimmer designed for constant voltage, common anode LED loads. The dimmer is housed in an IP54-rated extruded aluminium enclosure featuring transparent end plugs and cable glands for environmental protection. Electrical & Thermal Performance • Load Capacity: Supports a maximum load of 600W @ 24VDC or 360W @ 12VDC in ambient temperatures 40°C. • Current Limits: No individual channel should be loaded with more than 12A to account for LED inrush current at start-up. • Total Output: The total of all four outputs must not exceed 480W (25A @ 24VDC or 30A @ 12VDC). • Thermal Management: The internal PCA is rated for a maximum design temperature of 70°C and requires adequate air movement for cooling. Control Protocols & PWM Options • Multi-Protocol Interface: Compatible with DALI (Type 6), DMX512, RDM, and DSI. • Reverse PWM (Device Invert): An option is available via RDM (Parameter ID 0x8006) to invert the PWM output. This is used for fixtures requiring flipped logic, where a 0% PWM signal results in 100% brightness and 100% PWM results in 0% brightness. • High-Resolution Dimming: Standard 400Hz PWM can be increased to a 1200Hz dithered mode via RDM to approximate a 16-bit dimming curve. • DMX512 Personalities: Offers five distinct personalities, supporting 8-bit or 16-bit dimming, strobe functions, and a 200Hz vector mode for smooth fading. Physical Construction • Enclosure: Extruded aluminium with dimensions of 268 x 97 x 48 mm (324mm length including glands). • Cable Management: Supplied with four M20 glands suitable for 6–12mm OD circular cables; a reducing seal is included for 5–9mm cables. • Visual Feedback: Includes internal mimic LEDs for Output 1 (Red), 2 (Green), 3 (Blue), and 4 (White) to simplify troubleshooting. Protection Features • Fused Outputs: Each of the four channels is protected against short circuits by a 15A fuse. • Input Protection: Features a 500mA self-resetting polyfuse on the DC input and is immune to accidental DC input reversal. • Data Protection: Includes transient protection for the DMX transceiver and over-voltage/spike protection for the DALI line.
