The SLAMMO V5 IP54 DT8 is an Australian-made smart LED dimmer designed for constant voltage, common anode LED loads. This version is housed in an IP54 extruded aluminium enclosure with transparent end plugs and cable glands for environmental protection. Performance & Electrical • DALI-2 DT8 Integration: The device is DALI-2 compliant. It implements DALI Type 6/8 functionality, supporting features like dimming curve selection (logarithmic or linear) and fast fade times. • Load Capacity: Rated for a maximum load of 600W @ 24VDC or 360W @ 12VDC in ambient temperatures 40°C. • Current Limits: No individual channel should exceed 12A to account for LED inrush current. • Total Output: The total device current must not exceed 25A @ 24VDC or 30A @ 12VDC. • Operating Voltage: Designed for 7-48VDC; the input voltage must match the requirement of the connected LEDs. Protocol & Control Options • Multi-Protocol Support: Operates via DALI, DMX512, RDM, or DSI. • Reverse PWM (Device Invert): A reverse PWM option is available via RDM (Parameter ID 0x8006), allowing the output to be inverted for fixtures where 0% PWM represents 100% brightness. • PWM Dithering: Users can increase the output frequency from 400Hz to 1200Hz via RDM to provide an approximated 16-bit dimming curve. • DMX Personalities: Supports five personalities, including a 200Hz vector mode for high-resolution fading. Physical Construction & Monitoring • Enclosure: The aluminium housing measures 268 x 97 x 48 mm (excluding glands). • Cable Glands: Supplied with four M20 glands for 6-12mm OD circular cables, with reducing seals for 5-9mm cables. • Visual Status: Features internal mimic LEDs for Output 1 (Red), 2 (Green), 3 (Blue), and 4 (White). • Thermal Management: The PCA has a maximum design temperature of 70°C and requires adequate air movement. Protection Features • Short-Circuit Protection: Each of the four outputs is protected by a 15A fuse (Littlefuse model 0451015). • Input Protection: Includes a 500mA self-resetting olyfused on the DC input and immunity from accidental DC input reversal. • Transient Protection: Built-in protection for the DMX transceiver and DALI line against over-voltage and spikes.
