DALI Converter for MEAN WELL HLG Series LED Drivers

DALI Converter for MEAN WELL HLG Series LED Drivers
Product News

ADM stocks MEAN WELL the PWM and ELG series LED drivers with a built-in DALI interface.

However, the range of power outputs offered within these ranges is somewhat limited.

The MEAN WELL HLG series LED drivers are still considered to be the ‘gold standard’ when it comes to LED drivers, and all models are offered with a 7-year warranty. There are also many more power output options within the HLG series, ranging from 40 WATTS up to 600 WATTS.

None of the HLG series LED drivers are available with a built-in DALI interface.

The good news is that ADM stocks a low-cost DALI converter that allows the dimmable HLG series LED drivers to be controlled via a DALI system.

There are two models available:

DAP-04:  4 output channels

DAP-04-S01: Single output channel

With both models each output channel has its own DALI address and can control up to 20 Mean Well HLG LED drivers. This means the 4-channel model can control a total of 80 HLG LED drivers.

The DAP-04s take the incoming DALI signal and convert it to a PWM signal.

HLG models with a ‘B’ or ‘AB’ suffix in their part number are dimmable and will automatically recognise the PWM signal from the DAP-04 and dim accordingly.

It should be noted that the 4-channel DAP-04 will consume 4 DALI addresses in your system, even if you are not using all the output channels.

Therefore, if you only have a limited number of DALI addresses available it may be preferable to use the single channel DAP-04-S01.

Please do not hesitate to contact ADM if you have any questions about installing these DALI converters. A member of our friendly team will gladly answer any questions that you may have.
