The HC501S can be powered from a DC source ranging from 12V ~ 48V. This is particularly useful for retro-fit projects as it doesn’t require any connection to the AC mains supply. You simply install the HC501S across the DC output of the LED driver.

The HC501S can work with LED drivers that have an output current of no more than 6 amps.

There is a built-in daylight sensor, so you can use the HC501S to switch the lights on, only when there is not enough natural light available. There are 5 different lux levels you can set, or if you don’t want to use this feature it can be switched off so the light will switch on every time motion is detected.

You have 6 different hold times to choose from ranging from 5 seconds through to 30 minutes. These are selected via the built in DIP switches, as is the required detection area. You can set the sensitivity of the microwave sensor.

And that is pretty much it.

The Hytronik HC501S is easy to install, easy to set up and remarkably cost effective.

Some applications that spring to mind include security lighting, automated office or room lighting ensuring illumination only when the workspace is occupied or even walk in robes, or why not try to save some electricity in the kids rooms.
