Introducing the MEAN WELL NPF Series LED Drivers

New Product Release
Product News

ADM now stocks the MEAN WELL NPF series LED drivers.

At first glance many aspects of the NPF series is very similar to the LPF series, which you may already be familiar with.

MEAN WELL NPF-120

The first difference you will notice between the two LED drivers is the colour of the plastic housing. Instead of the cream coloured housing used on the LPF series, the NPF series has a dark grey housing.

This is no accident. Light coloured LED drivers stand out when they are mounted on a dark ceiling in an auditorium. This can be unsightly. The NPF series LED drivers wouldn’t be seen in such an installation, which makes them perfect for many theatrical and architectural lighting applications.

There are four different versions of the NPF series LED drivers available:

Series

Typical Power Output*

NPF-40(D)

40 WATTS

NPF-60(D)

60 WATTS

NPF-90(D)

Dimming Options

The NPF-D LED drivers feature MEAN WELL’s patented 3-in-1 dimming technology. This allows the dimming of the LED driver to be controlled by any one of the following common methods:

  • 0-10V
  • PWM Signal
  • Resistance

Another very useful feature is the ability to dim to ‘off’.

Auxiliary Power Output

A specific version of the NPF-120 series is available, which incorporates a 12V / 0.2A auxiliary power output. This is ideal for powering control devices, such as PIR and microwave motion sensors, such as the MEAN WELL PIR-045.

IP67 Rating

All NPF series LED drivers have an ingress protection rating of IP67. This makes them perfect for use in damp, or dusty environments.

It should be noted that LED drivers should never be mounted in direct sunlight. This can cause the internal electronics to heat up beyond the maximum working temperature of the LED driver.

Price Comparison

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the MEAN WELL NPF series LED drivers, when compared with the LPF series is the cost.

Because the NPF series LED drivers were designed using the latest electronic design concepts, and are manufactured in MEAN WELL's newest and most advanced production facility, they are actually more cost effective than the LPF series LED drivers.

MEAN WELL’s NPF series LED drivers are backed by a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty and ADM’s stock has a factory fitted 1.8m flex and plug.
